iPod/iPad Settings

To access the settings on your iPad, click on the Settings button(shown above)
Common Settings
Wi-Fi - Check this if no internet connectivity
General Settings
About - Name, File use, Capacity, Available, etc
Auto-Lock - Set iPod/iPad to lock after a certain amount of time
Passcode Lock - Set a code to be entered to unlock iPod/iPad
Use Side Switch to: - Side button can be used for Locking screen rotation or to mute sound
Multitasking Gestures - Needs to be on to use Gestures below
Accessibility - Options for those that need Vision, Hearing, and Motor accommodations
Accessibility -> Guided Access - Lock user on screen(Turn on to allow capability to use when you need it)
Brightness and Wallpaper
Auto-Brightness - Self-explanatory
or change brightness manually with brightness slider just above
Wallpaper - Change wallpaper for both "Home" Screen and "Lock" Screen
Picture Frame
Change settings for your "Picture show" when iPod/iPad is locked
iCloud
With account, this allows you to backup your data to the cloud. Apple provides 5 gb storage for each user. With this option activated, Apple will automatically backup your iPod/iPad.
Other iPod/iPad Basics
Home Screen
The home screen is the first page of your apps, usually saved for often-used apps. To move certain apps to your home screen, use the "Move Apps" procedure below.. To access your home screen, you can push the "Home" button at anytime.
Dock
To access your dock, double-click the "Home" Button. Your dock will consist of apps that are currently open, with most recent apps that were used on the left. To close an App, use the "Closing Apps in Dock" procedure below. Swipe through dock to get to other parts, like Volume, Screen-lock, Brightness settings. This also include a "shortcut" to your music
Add Apps to Dock
1. Tap and hold finger on an app until apps jiggle(1-2 seconds)
2. Drag app into the dock
Move Apps
1. Tap and hold finger on an app until apps jiggle(1-2 seconds)
2. Drag app to where you want it
*You can move an app to another page by dragging the app to the side of the page, pausing and the iPod/iPad will move to the next page.
Delete Apps
1. Tap and hold finger on an app until apps jiggle(1-2 seconds)
2. Click on Red "X" in corner
*You can reinstall app later without having to purchase
Create folders to help with app management
1. Tap and Hold finger on an app until apps jiggle(1-2 seconds)
2. Drag app onto another app and drop
3. New Folder is created with a guessed name. Change if you want.
*To change name of folders later, double-click on folder
*To move an app out of a folder, double-click on folder, then drag file outside of folder
Closing Open Apps
1. Do the procedure to "Open App Screen"(See in "Gestures" Section)
2. Tap and hold an icon until all of them start to jiggle(about 1-2 seconds).
3. Click on the minus signs to close the apps(can tap more than one at a time, if desired)
Show Picture Show when Locked
Allow your iPod to "lock." Rather than unlocking the screen, click on the picture button and your iPad will create a slideshow with all pictures on your device.
